Excerpt: “On 12 May 2025, the 14th meeting of the Arctic Council will be held in a virtual format. Delegations from the eight Arctic States, six Permanent Participant organizations, Working Groups and Expert Group and Observers have been invited to the meeting. The meeting will mark the conclusion of the Norwegian Chairship of the Arctic Council (2023-2025) and the beginning of the Kingdom of Denmark’s Chairship (2025-2027). Every two years, Arctic Council representatives meet to review work conducted during the previous Chairship period, approve new work plans for the Council’s subsidiary bodies for the incoming Chairship period and officially pass the gavel to the new Chair. … Norway’s Chairship of the Arctic Council elevated four priority areas: the oceans, climate and environment, sustainable economic development, and people in the North. Arctic Indigenous Peoples and youth were cross-cutting priorities during Norway’s Chairship. More information about the Norwegian Chairship of the Arctic Council can be found here.”
