The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. … This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a major defense partner. The UAE is a force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East. The proposed sale will improve the United Arab Emirates’ ability to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity to meet its national defense requirements. The United Arab Emirates will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment and services into its armed forces.”
