The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. … This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by improving the security and capabilities of Ireland to support its participation in peacekeeping missions with the United Nations and NATO’s Partnership for Peace program. The proposed sale will enhance Ireland’s capability to build its long-term defense capacity to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity to meet its national defense requirements. Ireland will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces.”
