Report of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) Climate Change Workshop

Excerpt:  “The aims for the workshop are to increase understanding of how climate change is affecting and will affect cetaceans, and how the IWC’s science and stewardship mission can best address these challenges, in collaboration with other organisations. Simmonds noted that although the IWC does not have a direct role in the human activities that are contributing to the climate crisis, it can provide advice to relevant bodies on how their practices may affect cetaceans.”
